The cleanroom solutions developed by FläktGroup allow users to adapt all essential parameters to the requirements of each manufacturing process and to systematically control the decontamination of the ambient air. These solutions control air pressure, temperature and humidity (especially contamination from fine dust, dead skin and bacteria) and keep products and processes free from these contaminants.

The pharmaceutical and semiconductor industries, as well as companies in the chemical, space, laser and optical technology industries, are increasingly using cleanroom conditions for their research and production.

High-quality technical, chemical and biological products with highly sensitive manufacturing processes are further processed in hermetically sealed spaces that require the lowest possible dust content in the ambient air. The manufacturing process itself, however, must be carried out in completely particle-free ambient air.


 

The various applications

Micro Electronics

The production of microelectronic equipment must be carried out in a clean and dust-free indoor environment.

For optimal contamination control, the air supply should be triple-filtered, the last one with a HEPA filter. In addition, the overpressure level of the adjacent rooms should be maintained at approximately 15Pa.

All interior surfaces of the room should be smooth and easy to clean - rounded corners, limited number of joints.

Medical equipment

The manufacture of medical equipment requires clean, germ-free indoor air. For optimal contamination control, the air supply must pass through a triple filtration, the last one with a HEPA filter. A homogeneous airflow is required, without draughts over the surface to be treated (Equiv. laminar flow).
The overpressure level of the adjacent rooms should be maintained at about 15Pa.

Laboratories

An uncontaminated environment is essential when handling critical substances.

The temperature inside a controlled environment is a sensitive issue. Particular attention must be paid to cooling, which must remain "dry", i.e. without condensation in the laboratory, as moisture brought into the room can develop bacteria.

Pharmaceutical production

When it comes to drug manufacturing, a sterile environment is important.

As with laboratories, the temperature within an environment is a critical issue. Condensation must be avoided in order not to develop bacteria within the environment.

 

Operating theatres

Understanding HVAC solutions in the operating room starts with understanding the diversity of risks. Our specialised hospital HVAC solutions have been developed to meet the specific needs of this application.

During an operation, contamination can come from two main sources. The first is endogenous, i.e. the contamination comes directly from the patient's skin or body, or from an infected prosthesis or implant. The second is exogenous: the contamination comes from the surrounding environment or from the surgical team and their equipment.

Understanding this allows us to establish that there is direct and indirect contamination. Direct contamination is from objects that come into direct contact with the patient during the operation, such as the surgeons' hands and instruments. Indirect contamination comes from dust in the air, condensation nuclei or even clothing fibres.
